Basic Understanding of Manufacturing Processes Training Course

This one day (8 hrs.) course provides basic knowledge of the manufacturing processes used in steelmaking; rolling, drawing, extrusion, forging, casting and welding.  Emphasis is placed on various types of inherent, processing and service related discontinuities.  This course is practical in nature, utilizes classroom participation and allows for hands on demonstration samples of various discontinuities and product forms.

Course Objectives

This course will:

  • Provide knowledge of the various steelmaking processes

  • Provide knowledge of the various types of discontinuities

  • Provide samples for hands on demonstration

  • Provide knowledge of NDT certification programs: SNT-TC-1A, ANSI/ASNT CP-189 and ACCP

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for NDT technicians, welding inspectors, auditors, supervisors, managers, engineers, quality assurance/quality control personnel, and others who desire to improve their skills in this area.

Course Notes

All attendees will be provided with relative technical notes and associated reference materials.

Certificate of Completion

Certificates are given to all participants upon satisfactory completion of course.

The registration fee for this course is $300

Payment

Payment by check, money order or cash is due in full prior to the start of the course.

Cancellations/substitutions

  • Cancellations made in writing and received between 5 to 15 working days prior to course will be refunded less $50 handling fee.

  • Cancellations received thereafter will not be refunded, and the full invoice fee will be payable regardless of whether or not you attend.

  • Substitutions may be made at any time.

  • Confirmation will be made in writing as soon as possible upon receipt of payment.  This confirmation will be sent to the address given on the registration form, unless otherwise indicated.

  • The organizers reserve the right to cancel any course due to insufficient enrollment.  In this event, fees will be refunded in full.  However, the organizers assume no liability for travel or any expenses other than fees paid.

Tax Deduction

An income tax deduction is allowed for educational expenses (registration fees and cost of travel, meals and lodging) undertaken to 1) maintain or improve skills required in ones employment or other trade of business, or 2) meet express requirements of an employer or law imposed as a condition to retention of employment, job status or rate of compensation.
