Radiation Safety Training Course
*This
training course is only for Industrial Radiographers -
not Medical Radiologists*
This five day (40 hrs.) course
provides basic knowledge of Industrial Radiation Safety. It complies with
the State of Texas Department of Health Regulations and USNRC for both X-ray and
isotope work. Emphasis is placed on the central certification test for
radiographers. This course is practical in nature, utilizes classroom
participation, and allows for hands on use of gamma ray exposure equipment and
radiation monitoring equipment.
Course Objectives
This course will:
-
Meet the
requirements of the State of Texas and USNRC for formal classroom training.
-
Provide instruction and practice in use of the inverse square law.
-
Prepare the individual for the State of Texas or other central certification
exam for radiographers.
-
Provide hands-on use of gamma ray exposure equipment.
-
